What personal data do we collect and where does it come from?

In the context of the application procedure process we collect the following personal data:
  • Your master data (such as first name, last name, name affixes, date of birth)
  • Work permit / residence title, if applicable
  • Contact details (e.g. private address, (mobile) phone number, e-mail address)
  • Data on special knowledge and skills
  • Any other data relevant to the position to be filled, such as information on air cargo security check
Your personal data is generally collected directly from you as part of the recruitment process, especially from the application documents and the job interview.

For what purposes and on what legal basis are data processed?
We process your personal data in accordance with the provisions of the EU-GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

The primary purpose of data processing is to establish the employment relationship.  The primary legal basis for this is Article 88 (1) GDPR in conjunction with Article 26 (1) BDSG.

Your data will be processed exclusively to fill the specific position for which you have applied.

If you would like to be included in our pool of applicants in the event of a rejection, or if your application is to be considered for other specific vacancies in the company / group, we require a declaration of consent from you.

How long will your data be stored?
We will add your application documents to your personnel file, If you are hired.  After termination of the employment relationship, those personal data which we are legally obliged to keep will continue to be stored. This regularly results from legal obligations to provide evidence and retain records, which are regulated in the German Commercial Code and the German Fiscal Code, among others. The storage periods are up to ten years. In addition, personal data may be retained for the time during which claims can be made against us (statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years).

In the event of a rejection, your application documents will be deleted approx. six months after completion of the application procedure, unless you have given us permission to keep them longer (applicant pool).

Who gets your data?
Only those persons and positions within our company (e.g. department, works council, disabled persons' representative body) receive your personal data that are involved in the decision on your employment.

Your data will be transferred to certain companies within our group of companies, if they perform data processing tasks centrally for the companies affiliated within the group.

In case of an intended use in the air freight security-relevant area, the relevant data will be forwarded to the Luftamt Nordbayern within the scope of the security check after consultation with you; if necessary, the data will also be checked against the relevant sanctions lists within the scope of the existing anti-terrorism regulations.

What rights can you assert as a data subject?
You have the rights under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR:

  • The right to restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)

Where can you complain?

Will your data be transferred to a third country?
We will only transfer your application data to a third country in those cases where you have applied for a job or assignment (for instance at a subsidiary of  EMUGE-FRANKEN) in the third country.

Are you obliged to provide your data?
In order to be able to consider your application, we require from you those personal data which are necessary for the decision on the establishment of the employment relationship.
