Clamping Mandrel

The clamping mandrel is designed for turning the inner and outer contour of the workpiece.

Functional description:

Clamping is initiated on the spindle side via a drawbar on the machine and is transmitted to the rear clamping sleeve (system SG) via a draw piece. An integrated disc spring assembly is used to initiate the clamping of the front clamping bush (SG system). The workpiece is supported by means of a centering point on the tailstock. In addition, three protruding pins on the end stop are used to secure the workpiece against twisting and a positive torque is transmitted.

Advantages:

- two independent clamping points for accurate and repeatable workpiece alignment
- low-deformation clamping of very thin-walled components
- very reliably transmittable torque due to three pins on the end stop, positive locking connection with three recesses to the workpiece
- retractable end stop enables the machining of the left face on the workpiece
